I've been creating animations for the NewsMaker software produced by Eyepower Games.
The software is an award winning package designed to help kids from all over the world learn in an interesting and fun way by writing and filming their own programmes.
The animations will be used to introduce topics and help the kids present their final programmes.
Having recently finished a local race, I am beginning work on a motion graphics film about running. Storyboard ideas are beginning to take shape, which is paramount to making decisions about the style.
I hope that the short 1-2 minute piece will inspire others to try on a pair of running shoes and enter an event near them.
Open Season scoops best gore award
At the 2 Days Later Film Festival in Margate, Open Season won the the vote for the ‘Best Gore’ award.
I created some credits, titles, composited motion graphics, generally helped out on set, as well as recording the sound on a very low budget.
The film was produced with a great crew and cast on a very tight budget in less than 48 hours. It’s a horror film, so will not be to everyone’s taste.
The film festival iteself attracted entries from as far afield as Scotland and Switzerland and has inspired other film makers to go on and organise their own fetivals, such as the Red Carpet Screenings one in Basingstoke.
Vietnamese folder on press
Coming to completion is a folder to hold documents for road safety awareness company iRAP. iRAP are “dedicated to saving lives in developing countries by promoting safer road design”.
The photo you see above was supplied by iRAP, cut out and edited using Photoshop CS4. I also had to keep the style loyal to their brand and previous document styling, which is paramount when documents are stacked, put beside or inside other documents.
The folder using Vietnamese text, was sent to a Vietnamese printer, which sped up turnaround by avoiding long shipping times. The folder is currently on the press and due to be constructed using a series of cuts, folds and gluing. A special cutting tool is produced from a precise ‘net’ guide I sent over. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
Booklet and leaflets for road safety firm iRAP
Working in conjunction with the iRAP in-house design team, I produced this Russian 16 page A5 booklet and A4 leaflet helping conference attendants understand how road safety measures can help save lives.
300 copies were required at a super quick turn-around and a translation company was used to translate the text from English to Russian in an efficient, accurate and stress-free way.
Scientific illustrations for local scientific consultancy
I’m providing my services to a local company to create an array of technical illustrations to be used in documentation and presentations.
Using photographic reference material, sketches, diagrams and textual information, I believe the final diagrams are clear to understand, aesthetically pleasing, as well as showing a high level of technical detail. I’ve had excellent technical advice off of some very knowledgeable people in order to get the work done.
